UDUPI CIVIC WATCH

Predict the future by creating it

Udupi Civic Watch is one of my proudest civic-tech initiatives, conceived and developed to strengthen collaboration between citizens and local authorities in maintaining cleaner communities.

The platform enables residents to instantly report garbage hotspots by uploading photos through a simple mobile interface. Each complaint receives a unique tracking number, bringing transparency, accountability, and faster resolution of civic issues.

First launched in Saligrama Town Panchayat, the initiative is being rolled out as a pilot for wider adoption across Udupi District. By encouraging active citizen participation, the platform helps build a culture of civic responsibility while supporting more effective waste management.

The app was officially launched during the 80th Independence Day celebrations in Udupi by Minister Shri Rizwan Arshad in the presence of District Collector Swaroopa T.K., marking an important step towards technology-enabled governance and community-driven change.
